One of our main gripes in our Chopper 2 review which got 2/3 was that you had to buy the iPhone and Mac version of Chopper 2 to control your helicopter via iPhone. Thankfully, the developers have listened and have now released Chopper 2 Wireless Controller which enables you to control the Mac version on your iDevice, and most importantly it is free. The Chopper 2 Wireless Controller also enables you to plug in an iPod Touch or iPhone into a T.V with Chopper 2 loaded and then control it with another iOS device with the action on the big screen.

However, you don’t get the whole game with this free app, you just get the capability to use your iPhone or iPod Touch as the controller. You can buy the full game on the App Store and then still get wireless functionality.

We hope to see more games with this style of approach as we thing the iPhone’s touch screen and size makes it an almost perfect controller for the Mac. The lack of tactile feedback though needs to be taken into account. This means developers can’t implement complicated control scheme with small virtual buttons as the player may tend to look down to see where their finders are on the screen.
