The Incident was one of the first games on the Mac App Store, and is still one of the best retro platformers for Mac. The Incident follows an everyday man on his way to work when The Incident happens. Every object you can think of, and ones you can’t, start falling from the sky in an endless barrage of steel, rock and… sofas? The only way you are going to stem the flow is to climb up to the cause of The Incident, using the fallen objects as a rising platform of randomness.
The retro art style is beautiful. As you climb higher and higher, more objects of varying size and shape start to fall at alarming rates. Get bonked on the head a few too many times and it’s game over, pushing you back to the beginning of the stage.
The Incident works so much better with physical controls than the virtual ones on the iOS version of the game, and is an excellent time waster. Go download it before the free sale ends.
