Whilst the genre ‘Action/Adventure’ is a very vague term, we have still managed to pick out the best all-rounders on the Mac App Store. Be sure to check out some of these whoppers for some great action adventuring.

Caster was the first 5/5 rating we’ve ever given. It may look dated, but nothing beats pure, indie fun in this third-person ground manipulation shooter. If you want a good time, get Caster now.

Deathspank
Price: $12.99 (£7.49)
Every detail in DeathSpank is beautifully crafted and the gameplay remains fresh all the way through.There shouldn’t be anything stopping the avid Mac gamer from rushing over to the Mac App Store and murdering that buy button for one of the funniest and entertaining RPGs out there. Galaxy on Fire 2
Price: $19.99/£13.99
Galaxy on Fire 2 is a ridiculously excellent game. It never, ever gets old and this is because of a combination of the freedom to do what you want, the amount of things you can do as well as the console-quality visuals. Being native to the Mac App Store, it really is the future of Mac App Store gaming; relatively new developers being creative, taking a risk and developing something amazing. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

There’s no harm in taking a trip down memory lane. Especially when the asking price is only $5. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is the game that started Rockstar’s career as the leading game publisher of 3D sandbox games. It’s bloody, ruthless and a whole load of fun. Come get it while it’s so cheap.
Batman Arkham Asylum
Price: $39.99 (£27.99)
Batman Arkham Asylum is as emotionally driven as it is physically intense. It finds the perfect balance between silent stealth and jaw-crunching combat. Best comic book game in years. Definitely read our review for more info.
